Mitch and Martha have not retired! It is true that they have reduced their residency schedule to allow more time for Author Visits and writing (the Noodleheads series and other projects). Due to the multi-year nature of residencies, Martha and Mitch will no longer be accepting new residencies as of 2019. Listed below are upcoming PUBLIC performances/workshops/keynotes by Beauty and the Beast Storytellers. The majority of their work is in schools and other places/situations that are not normally open to the public. If you wish to preview one of Mitch and Martha's non-public performances, feel free to contact them for information about dates when they may be in your area.

Martha Hamilton and Mitch Weiss are the authors of more than twenty-five books, including their Noodleheads series with Tedd Arnold. Although this husband and wife team, known as ‘Beauty and the Beast Storytellers,’ retired as traveling performers in 2020, they continue to write books. During their forty-year career, they traveled the world sharing their passion for storytelling. Their book, Children Tell Stories: Teaching and Using Storytelling in the Classroom is considered the classic guide on how to teach storytelling skills. The Noodleheads series was awarded a Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) Honor and a Notable Book of the Year from the American Library Association, as well as the Aesop Prize from the American Folklore Society.
